Only way to escape the pain. I’m not going to be that person to tell you everything will get better, even though I believe it will. I just know you won’t. So instead of me blabbering on and on, go get a pen. Pick out your favorite color, don’t get one that would hurt that beautiful skin of yours.
Got a pen? Okay, good. Now, draw a butterfly on yourself. It doesn’t matter where, for this butterfly protects your whole body. Butterflys are delicate and beautiful, just like you. Butterflys are also not able to see the other side of their wings, they only see the bottom. They don’t see how beautiful they are, possibly just like you. It really doesn’t matter what your butterfly looks like, make it special and make it yours. Now, think of somebody special to you. Someone who makes you happy or someone that has helped you through hard times. If you can’t think of anybody, I can be your person. You can call me S. Now name your butterfly after that person. You are now in charge of protecting this butterfly, care for them, just like they cared for you. You have to make sure they don’t get hurt, their lives are in your hands. They were there for you, now you have to be there for them. You can’t hurt yourself. If you do, you kill this butterfly. You let them down. If you hurt yourself, you’re also hurting everybody else who cares for you. And don’t you dare say you have nobody, because like I just said I’m here for you. You can’t scrub off this butterfly, it has to fade away by itself. It fading away does not mean you have nobody again, people always lose contact for a little bit or are busy for a day. But they will always be there when it’s important, and that’s when you draw the butterfly again. You can draw as many butterflys as you want.
Remember, you hurt yourself, you kill the butterfly. You hurt yourself, you hurt so much more than only your beautiful skin.
